Kensington SD4845P driverless USB-C dock

The Kensington SD4845P is a USB-C docking station that delivers triple-video output and 85W laptop charging without requiring any driver installation. It targets professionals who need immediate multi-display connectivity on Windows 7 or newer laptops equipped with DisplayPort Alt Mode and Power Delivery.

Windows DisplayPort Alt Mode users only

This dock suits Windows users whose laptops support DisplayPort Alt Mode and Power Delivery over USB-C. It does not serve macOS users, Linux environments, or hosts that lack DisplayPort Alt Mode or cannot accept 85W charging through the USB-C port.

10Gbps data and 85W PD over USB-C

The single specification that determines compatibility is the host laptop's ability to run DisplayPort Alt Mode and accept 85W Power Delivery over its USB-C connector while providing 10Gbps data bandwidth for peripherals.

Questions about this item

Will the SD4845P dock charge and drive displays from my laptop's single USB-C port?

Yes, provided the laptop's USB-C port supports both DisplayPort Alt Mode and Power Delivery, the dock delivers up to 85 W of charging while handling triple video output through that same connection.

Can I keep using my existing USB 2.0 peripherals alongside the dock's USB 3.0 ports?

The dock provides three USB 3.0 ports that are backward compatible, so older USB 2.0 devices will function normally at their rated speeds.

How can I confirm the dock is delivering the full 85 W to my laptop after setup?

Check the battery or power settings in Windows; it will report the incoming wattage, letting you verify that 85 W is being supplied.
