Thunderbolt 4 Dock with Dual 4K Support
The Kensington SD5780T is a Thunderbolt 4 docking station designed for Thunderbolt 4 Windows laptops and Thunderbolt 3 or 4 MacBooks running macOS 11 or later. A single 0.8 metre Intel certified cable delivers up to 40Gbps data transfer while charging the host with 96W Power Delivery. It suits professionals who need a single-cable desk setup for high-resolution displays and fast peripherals.
Build Integration and Port Layout
The dock draws power from an included 180W supply to provide 96W to the laptop and additional current for attached drives, phones or tablets. Video output uses one HDMI port and one Thunderbolt 4 port for dual 4K 60Hz monitors, or a single 8K 30Hz display; a second Thunderbolt 4 port remains free for daisy-chaining up to six Thunderbolt devices. A UHS-II SD 4.0 card reader adds direct media ingest without extra adapters.
Ideal Users and Limitations
This station fits users with Thunderbolt 4 Windows machines or M1/M2 Pro and Max MacBooks wanting dual 4K displays and 96W charging. It does not support Thunderbolt 3 Windows laptops, and original M1 or M2 MacBooks are limited to a single external monitor by Apple silicon constraints. Buyers needing Thunderbolt 3 Windows compatibility should consider alternative part numbers.

Questions about this item
Does the 96 W Power Delivery cover both the laptop and the bus-powered drives I attach?
The 180 W supply feeds 96 W to the laptop and the remaining headroom powers Thunderbolt, USB and SD peripherals simultaneously.
How loud or hot does the unit get when driving two 4 K 60 Hz displays all day?
No fan is present; the aluminium chassis dissipates heat silently so surface temperature stays low during continuous dual-monitor workloads.
Which cable do I need on my desk before this dock will function?
A 0.8 m Intel-certified Thunderbolt 4 cable is included, so no extra cable purchase is required.
