Ear-hook earpiece with in-line PTT

The KENWOOD KHS-31C is a single-ear wired earpiece that uses an ear-hook to stay in place. A 38 in cord connects to compatible radios through a 2 pin speaker and microphone plug. The push-to-talk button and microphone are built into the earpiece housing for one-hand operation.

Suits hands-free radio users

Security, event and parking-lot staff who need to keep both hands free while transmitting will find the ear-hook style practical. Users who require over-the-head headbands, dual-ear coverage or wireless operation should look at other accessory types.

2 pin Kenwood connector compatibility

The earpiece plugs into Kenwood NX-P1200AV, NX-P1200NV, NX-P1202AV, NX-P1300AU, NX-P1300NU and NX-P1302AU portable radios. Verify that the radio uses the same 2 pin speaker and mic audio jack before purchasing.

Questions about this item

How does the 38 inch cord length work when the earpiece is worn on a radio belt clip?

The 38 inch cord gives enough slack to run from a belt‑mounted Kenwood radio up to the ear hook without pulling tight during normal movement.

What does the 2 pin speaker mic audio plug connect to on the compatible Kenwood radios?

The 2 pin plug fits the accessory jack on the NX‑P1200AV, NX‑P1200NV, NX‑P1202AV, NX‑P1300AU, NX‑P1300NU and NX‑P1302AU models for transmit and receive audio.

How does the single ear hook attach to the user for hands‑free use?

The plastic and metal ear hook loops over one ear, holding the in‑earpiece microphone and speaker in place while the push‑to‑talk button stays accessible on the cord.
