The SAE scale shows feet and inches in 1/8 in increments on a single-sided blade. A non-magnetic single hook anchors at the zero point for one-person measuring on flat surfaces.

The polycarbonate case measures 7 1/2 in long and houses a manual blade return with no locking mechanism. No motor, battery or electronic components are present, so the tool produces no heat, no audible noise and draws no power during operation.
