100 ft / 30 m long tape measure
The Keson ST18M100Y is a long steel tape measure with a 100 ft and 30 m blade. It is built for layout work on job sites and large properties where a standard pocket tape cannot reach. The yellow blade carries both SAE and metric graduations in 1/8 in and 2 mm increments. Orange ABS case houses the blade with a manual rewind.
Manual rewind and no lock limit speed
The tape uses a manual rewind mechanism without a locking button. Users must control the blade return by hand and cannot lock the tape at a measured length. This slows repetitive measuring tasks compared to spring-return models with locks. The 3/8 in blade width keeps weight down but offers less standout than wider blades.
Steel blade with lacquer coating and folding hook
The steel blade has a lacquer coating to resist wear and corrosion during daily use. A folding hook at the tip secures to edges for one-person measurements. The case includes 16 in stud markings on the blade for framing layout. No belt clip is fitted so the tape must be carried in a pouch or tool bag.

Questions about this item
Should I choose the 100 ft / 30 m version or a shorter tape?
The 100 ft / 30 m blade covers long runs such as site layout and fencing; shorter tapes are lighter but require more repositioning.
What does the 3/8 in blade width mean when I am measuring alone?
A 3/8 in steel blade with lacquer coating resists kinking and stays readable at full extension, though standout is not rated so the tip may need support on very long pulls.
How does the manual rewind and lack of lock affect daily use?
Without a lock you hold the blade by hand; the manual crank rewinds 100 ft steadily, and the folding hook secures the end for solo measurements.
