Desk Protection and Mouse Surface

The Keychron FYD-4017-Black desk mat is a new PU leather blotter that shields a desktop from scratches, stains, spills, heat and daily wear. Its rectangular 40 by 17 inch surface also serves as a large mouse pad for writing, typing and mouse use. The black finish suits both office and home workspaces.

Build Integration and Workspace Gains

The mat lays flat on any desk without adhesive, using a non-slip base that provides 88 percent more friction resistance than traditional double-sided leather pads. At 2 mm thickness it adds minimal height while covering a wide area, freeing the user from separate mouse pads and protecting the desk finish beneath keyboards, laptops and accessories.

Thermal Comfort and Maintenance

The upgraded PU leather stays pliable and soft in colder conditions, giving consistent wrist support during long sessions. The waterproof surface resists liquid penetration and can be wiped clean with a dry or damp cloth, keeping the mat looking pristine without special cleaners or drying time.

Questions about this item

Will the 2 mm PU leather surface start to curl or wear through after months of daily mouse swipes?

The 2 mm PU leather resists scratches, stains, spills and heat, and the supplier states it remains pliable and soft even in colder weather, so curling or wear-through is not expected under normal daily use.

Does the mat emit any odour or become noticeably warm when left on a desk all day?

The material is described as waterproof and wipe-clean with no mention of odour or heat build-up, and the non-slip backing provides 88 % more friction resistance than traditional double-sided leather pads without generating warmth.

Must the desk be a specific size or material for the 40 × 17 in mat to lie flat and stay in place?

The mat measures 40 × 17 inches and its non-slip backing works on typical desktop surfaces; no special desk size or material is required beyond a clean, flat area large enough for the mat.
