Double Detection Smoke and CO Alarm

The Kidde RGCUAR-RW combines photoelectric smoke sensing with an electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor in a single hardwired unit. It is suited for homeowners who want one device to monitor both fire and invisible gas threats. Buyers who need a purely battery-operated detector or a model without smart connectivity should look elsewhere.

Hardwired Build with AA Backup and App Alerts

The detector mounts on a standard junction box and includes an AA battery backup that keeps protection active during mains outages. Real-time notifications reach the Ring app without a subscription, and a single smart unit extends mobile alerts to every interconnected hardwired alarm in the home. Alexa-enabled devices can also announce warnings.

Certified Operation Within Defined Limits

The alarm meets UL 217 and FCC requirements and operates between 10 and 95 percent relative humidity up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Internal testing shows over 25 percent faster smoke detection versus a leading competitor, while enhanced sensing reduces cooking-related nuisance alarms compared with prior Kidde generations. An optional subscription adds 24/7 professional monitoring.
