Application fit

The Killark BL-90-2WW is a 90 degree threaded elbow for 3/4 inch IMC or rigid metal conduit. It suits electricians routing hazardous-location circuits where aluminium construction and powder coating are specified.

What the finish and rating change

Powder coating adds corrosion resistance while the aluminium body keeps weight at .19 lb. The fitting carries Class I Division 1 and 2 Groups C D, Class II Division 1 and 2 Groups E F G and Class III Division 1 and 2 ratings for use in classified areas.

Check before ordering

Verify that your conduit run uses 3/4 inch trade size IMC or threaded RMC with female to male thread orientation. Confirm the overall length of 2 5/8 in and 3 in height and width fit the available space in the enclosure or junction box.

Questions about this item

Does the powder-coated aluminium elbow need any re-coating or gasket replacement after long service in a hazardous area?

The factory powder coat and aluminium body are the only finishes; no scheduled re-coating or gasket is specified for the fitting itself.

What mechanical limit appears first when the elbow is subjected to continuous vibration and thermal cycling?

The threaded 3/4 in FNPT x MNPT joints and the aluminium material set the fatigue and creep limits under sustained movement.

How much heat does the aluminium elbow dissipate when installed in a sealed Class I Division 1 run all day?

Aluminium conducts heat from the conductors, and the 0.19 lb mass provides limited thermal mass; surface temperature follows the wire load and ambient conditions.
