Hazardous-location blank plug with male-to-male 1-1/2 in NPT threads and aluminium construction
The Killark HAWA CUP-5 is a silver aluminium blank plug rated for Class I Division 1 and 2 Groups A through D, Class I Zones 1 and 2 Groups IIC, IIB, IIA, Class II Division 1 and 2 Groups E, F, G and Class III Division 1 and 2. It threads directly into a 1-1/2 inch trade-size hub or taped hole using male NPT threads on both ends. The fitting measures 2 inches overall height and width with a 1 inch overall length.
Use this plug to seal unused conduit entries in hazardous-location enclosures where explosive gases, vapours, combustible dusts or ignitable fibres may be present. The jump is worth it when an existing installation has open hubs that must be closed to maintain the enclosure’s hazardous-location rating without replacing the entire hub assembly.
The aluminium body and plain finish suit the listed hazardous-location classes and groups. It runs out when the application requires a larger trade size, a female-threaded opening, a different material such as stainless steel, or a fitting certified for unlisted hazardous-location categories.

It has 1 1/2 in MNPT male threads and matches 1 1/2 in conduit trade size for hazardous-location hubs.
Thread the male MNPT end into a compatible hazardous-location hub; the step often missed is applying the required thread sealant or tape for the hazardous-location rating.
Inspect the plain aluminum finish and threads periodically for corrosion or damage; replace the plug if the hazardous-location seal integrity is compromised.
