Split Ergonomic Keyboard with Adjustable Tenting

The Kinesis Freestyle Ascent is a split ergonomic keyboard designed for users who want full control over hand positioning. Two independent keying modules connect by a cable, allowing the left and right halves to be placed at shoulder width. Tenting modules attach underneath each half and adjust from 20 to 90 degrees in 10 degree increments. The kit also includes a linking plate to join the modules into a single unit if preferred.

Suited for Typists Who Need Variable Tenting Angles

This keyboard fits people who benefit from raising the centre of each key module to reduce forearm pronation. The adjustable range supports low, medium and high tenting preferences for different tasks or recovery needs. Buyers who require a fixed, single-piece frame or a keyboard without a connecting cable should consider other designs. Those needing wireless connectivity or integrated palm rests at high tenting angles will not find those features here.

20‑90° Tenting Range in 10° Steps

The defining specification is the tenting adjustment, which lets each module tilt independently between 20 and 90 degrees in 10 degree increments. This range determines how far the thumbs are elevated and directly affects forearm relaxation. Choose this model when the ability to fine-tune the tenting angle across that specific span is the primary requirement.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and what must be bought separately?

The Freestyle Ascent accessory kit includes two multi-angle tenting modules and a linking plate; the keyboard itself and optional Freestyle2 palm supports are sold separately.

Which tenting angle should I choose for my Freestyle Ascent?

Each module adjusts independently from 20 to 90 degrees in 10 degree increments; lower settings of 20, 30 or 40 degrees work well with the optional palm supports.

How does the 20 to 90 degree tenting range feel in daily use?

Raising the centre of each split module relaxes forearm muscles and reduces pronation, improving comfort and blood flow during long typing sessions.
