Brass Tub/Shower Valve

This solid brass tub/shower valve uses a pressure-balanced washerless cartridge to maintain steady water temperature. It connects to standard 1/2-inch IPS inlets and delivers a 2.2 GPM flow rate. The satin nickel finish suits classic bathroom designs and the valve is sold without a handle or trim.

For Classic Bath Installs Needing a Valve Body Only

Builders fitting a traditional bath who want durable brass internals and pressure-balanced safety will find this valve fits the brief. It is not suited to projects that require an included handle, escutcheon, diverter or pull-out spray. Buyers needing a complete trim kit or thermostatic control should look elsewhere.

Pressure-Balanced Washerless Cartridge Type

The valve employs a ball-pattern washerless cartridge that balances hot and cold pressure to reduce scalding risk. This single specification determines whether the valve meets local code requirements for tub/shower applications.

Questions about this item

Does the 2.2 Gpm flow rate create noticeable pipe noise or water-hammer when the valve runs continuously?

The pressure-balanced washerless cartridge is designed to smooth pressure spikes, so typical installations run quietly at the rated 2.2 Gpm without water-hammer.

What supply connections must already be in the wall for this 1/2 Ips inlet valve to install?

You need existing 1/2-inch IPS threaded hot and cold supply stub-outs; no other plumbing is required for the valve body itself.

Will the ball-pattern washerless cartridge work with my older 1/2-inch copper supply lines and existing trim?

Yes — the 1/2 Ips inlets accept standard 1/2-inch copper adapters, and the cartridge fits the original Kingston Brass trim pattern.
