Two-Drive Portable SSD Kit

This Kingston XS2000 bundle supplies two 1000 GB external solid-state drives for creators and professionals who need fast, pocket-sized storage. Each drive uses USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 to reach sequential speeds up to 2,000 MB/s. The pair suits photographers, videographers and anyone moving large project files between workstations. Both units are brand new and ready for immediate use.

Removable Rugged Sleeve

A supplied rubber sleeve adds IP55-rated water and dust resistance plus drop protection for each drive. The sleeve can be removed when maximum compactness is preferred, such as inside a tight laptop bag. This accessory directly extends the environments where the drives can operate without a separate protective case. It addresses the durability concerns of on-location shoots and travel.

USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Host Requirement

The advertised 2,000 MB/s ceiling only appears when the host port supports USB 3.2 Gen 2x2; older USB-C or USB-A ports will negotiate lower speeds. The drives remain functional on those ports but cannot saturate the interface. Buyers should verify their device specifications before expecting peak throughput. No driver installation is required for basic operation.

Questions about this item

Will the USB-C connector or removable rubber sleeve need replacing after heavy daily use?

The USB-C connector is rated for standard insertion cycles and the IP55-rated rubber sleeve is removable for cleaning or replacement if damaged.

What limits sustained write speeds during long transfers on this drive?

Sustained performance is capped by the USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface at up to 2000MB/s; thermal throttling may activate under continuous heavy workloads.

How hot or loud does the 1000GB XS2000 get when running all day?

The drive has no moving parts so it is silent; the metal enclosure dissipates heat and the IP55 sleeve adds insulation during extended operation.
