Klein Tools 44000 Lockback Pocket Knife 2-1/4 In Blade AUS8 58-59 Rc Aluminum Handle

Everyday Carry Knife

The Klein Tools 44000 is a lockback pocket knife designed for daily utility tasks. Its 2-1/4 inch AUS8 stainless blade is hardened to 58-59 Rc for durable edge retention. A reversible thumb stud allows quick, one-handed opening with either hand. The brushed aluminum handle provides a secure grip in a compact 3-1/8 inch closed profile.

Upgrade from Basic Folders

This knife replaces slip-joint or non-locking folders that can close unexpectedly under pressure. The lockback mechanism secures the blade open during heavy cutting, reducing the risk of finger injuries. The AUS8 steel at 58-59 Rc holds an edge longer than softer budget steels, meaning less frequent sharpening. The jump is worth it for users who need a reliable, one-handed tool that withstands repeated hard use.

Build Integration

The slim aluminum handle slides easily into a pocket or tool pouch without adding bulk. Its stainless steel colour resists corrosion from moisture or sweat, keeping the tool functional in damp environments. The reversible thumb stud frees up the other hand for holding materials, improving workflow on ladders or in tight spaces. California Proposition 65 warnings apply regarding chemical content.
