Shear Action Limits on Medium Steel and Data Cable

The shear cutting action handles wire rope up to a maximum diameter of 5/32 inch and data cable up to 9/32 inch. Medium steel wire thicker than 5/32 inch exceeds the practical cutting capacity of this tool. The screw adjustment allows the joint to be readjusted over time to maintain blade alignment, but it does not extend the maximum material diameters the cutter can process.

Capacity Headroom for AWG 8 and Smaller Conductors

This cutter comfortably handles wire thicknesses up to 8 AWG, providing ample headroom for common electrical and data installation work.
