Ready-to-shoot kit

The Kodak Pixpro AZ405 Red Camera Kit bundles a 20MP CCD camera with a 40x optical zoom lens covering a 24-960mm equivalent range. It adds a 128 GB memory card, rechargeable AA batteries, a case, flexible tripod, neck strap, cleaning kit, card reader, card wallet, cables and cap keeper so you can start shooting immediately.

What to verify

Confirm you are comfortable with AA battery power rated for roughly 280 shots per set and that 720p video at 30 fps meets your recording needs. The 3.0 inch 460k-dot LCD is fixed, not touch-sensitive, and the camera uses a CCD sensor rather than a CMOS type.

Upgrade perspective

This kit replaces a basic point-and-shoot or smartphone when you need true optical reach up to 960mm equivalent and built-in stabilisation for handheld telephoto shots. The jump is worth it if you want a single package with long zoom, panorama mode and pet detection without buying accessories separately.

Questions about this item

What accessories come in the Kodak Pixpro AZ405 Red kit and is anything essential missing?

The bundle includes the red AZ405 camera, a 128 GB memory card, rechargeable AA batteries, case, flexible tripod, neck strap, lens caps, cleaning kit, card reader, card wallet, USB cable, micro USB cable and a cap keeper. No extra items are required to start shooting.

Should I choose this 128 GB bundle or look for a different capacity card?

The kit supplies a 128 GB card, which holds thousands of 20 MP JPEGs and hours of 720p video. A smaller card would fill quickly at the 40x zoom range; a larger one is unnecessary unless you record very long sessions.

What does the 40x optical zoom actually deliver when I am out shooting?

The lens covers a 24–960 mm equivalent range, so you can frame wide landscapes at 24 mm and pull distant subjects close at 960 mm. Optical image stabilization helps keep handheld shots sharp at the long end.
