Replacement Flush Valve Kit 1.28 GPF

The Kohler 1142714 kit replaces a worn flush valve in compatible toilets. It restores proper flushing performance and water usage. The part is supplied new and ready for installation.

Suits owners of matching Kohler toilets

This kit fits specific Kohler models designed for a 1.28 gallons per flush rating. It will not work on toilets with different flush volumes or valve designs. Buyers who need a fill valve or a complete tank overhaul should look at other repair kits.

1.28 gallons per flush rating

The flush volume of 1.28 GPF determines whether this valve matches the toilet's original specification. Using a valve with a different rating changes water consumption and may prevent the bowl from clearing correctly. Verify the toilet's GPF marking before ordering.

Questions about this item

How often will the 1.28 GPF flush valve seal need replacing?

The seal typically lasts several years under normal household use; mineral-heavy water shortens its life, so inspect annually and replace at the first sign of a slow leak.

What part of the 1142714 kit reaches its limit first during repeated flushing?

The flapper seal fatigues before the plastic body; after thousands of cycles it may no longer seat cleanly, causing the fill valve to run intermittently.

Does the 1.28 GPF valve make noise or heat the supply line when the toilet runs all day?

It operates silently with cold water only; no heating occurs and the only sound is the normal refill rush after each flush.
