Who it is for

The KOIOS SD-191B is a 1.8 litre electric kettle with a built-in analogue temperature gauge that displays water heat from 120°F to 212°F. It suits coffee and tea enthusiasts who need precise temperatures such as 175°F for green tea or 195°F to 205°F for pourover, and health-focused families preparing formula at 113°F.

What it replaces

It replaces basic boil-only kettles that give no visibility of water temperature once heating stops. The jump is worth it when you regularly brew delicate teas, make pourover coffee, or need to cool boiled water to a specific safe temperature for baby formula or herbal drinks without guesswork.

Install and pitfalls

Setup is simply filling the kettle, placing it on the power base and switching it on; the STRIX thermostat handles automatic shut-off at boil and dry-boil protection. The 100% 304 stainless steel interior eliminates plastic taste, while the heat-resistant handle stays cool. The 1500 watt rating demands a suitable kitchen outlet.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions of the SD-191B so I can check it fits my countertop space?

The thermo pot measures 8.27 inches long, 6.3 inches wide and 9.25 inches high, weighing 1.3 kilograms.

How do I install the kettle and what is the common mistake to avoid?

Place the unit on a flat, stable surface, fill with up to 1.8 liters of water, then plug into a suitable 1500 watt outlet. The frequent error is switching it on before the base is fully seated, which prevents the automatic shut-off from engaging.

What maintenance will the 304 stainless steel interior need over time?

Descale the interior periodically with vinegar or citric acid to remove mineral build-up, wipe the exterior yellow body with a damp cloth, and ensure the temperature gauge window stays clear for accurate 120 to 212°F readings.
