Artist reference tool for illustrators

The Kotobukiya AT022 is a 1/1 scale left hand model cast in pale orange for artists who need accurate anatomical reference. It measures approximately 8.27 inches and suits illustrators, sculptors and students studying human hand structure. Buyers who require a right hand or a different skin tone for two-handed poses will need a separate model.

Twenty articulation points with built-in stoppers

The figure offers 20 points of articulation and internal stoppers that prevent joints from bending in ways a real hand cannot. This mechanism keeps poses physically plausible while allowing easy readjustment without forcing parts. No moving parts generate noise or draw power, so the model is silent and maintenance-free in normal studio use.

ABS, POM and phthalate-free PVC construction

The hand is moulded from ABS, POM and phthalate-free PVC for durability and a surface that takes light similarly to skin. The pale orange tone helps artists study realistic texturing and shadow fall-off when drawing. Packaged in a closed flap-bottom box, it includes no additional accessories or software beyond the figure itself.

Questions about this item

How do I set up the 20 articulation points on the 8.27 inch left hand model without forcing the built-in stoppers?

Move each joint gently until the internal stopper engages; the stoppers prevent anatomically impossible positions so you never need to apply force when posing the hand.

What upkeep will the ABS, POM and phthalate-free PVC hand model need over time?

Wipe the pale orange surface with a soft dry cloth; the materials do not require lubrication and the stoppers are moulded in, so no parts need periodic replacement.

At what point does the 1/1 scale hand model limit posing during long drawing sessions?

The 20 built-in stoppers are the first limit — they lock the joints at anatomically correct angles so the hand cannot be bent beyond realistic human range.
