SKU CH-AX54-GBPZG

  • 6× magnification boost extends reach for distant subjects
  • Compatible with TSN-880 and TSN-770 series spotting scopes
  • Less than 5% light loss preserves image brightness at high power
  • Bayonet mount accepts Kowa eyepieces for secure attachment
  • Works with Kowa digiscoping adapters for telephoto photography

Extended Reach for TSN-880/770 Scopes

The Kowa TSN-EX16 is a 1.6x eyepiece extender built for TSN-880 and TSN-770 series spotting scopes. It mounts between the scope body and the original eyepiece to increase magnification for long-distance terrestrial or astronomical viewing. The bayonet mount accepts compatible Kowa eyepieces and the unit works on both angled and straight models.

Optical Limits of the 1.6x Multiplier

Magnification rises by a factor of 1.6 while light transmission drops by less than 5 percent, so image brightness remains high even at extended power. The extender adds physical length to the optical path, which can reduce eye relief and make the exit pupil smaller than the native eyepiece specification.

Check Scope Model and Eyepiece Fit

Confirm that the spotting scope is a TSN-880 or TSN-770 series unit; other Kowa models use different accessory threads and will not accept this extender. Verify that the intended eyepiece uses the Kowa bayonet mount so it locks securely onto the extender. Ensure the combined length still clears your tripod head and viewing position.

Questions about this item

Which eyepiece extender version should I pick for my TSN-880 or TSN-770 scope?

The TSN-EX16 is the single 1.6x extender made for both the TSN-880 and TSN-770 series, so you simply choose this model.

What does the 1.6x figure mean once the extender is fitted to my scope?

It multiplies the magnification of the attached eyepiece by 1.6, and the maker states light loss stays below 5 percent.

What mounting standard does the extender use and what does that limit?

It threads onto the scope's accessory thread and provides a bayonet mount for Kowa-compatible eyepieces, so only those eyepieces can be used with the extender in place.
