Kowa

Kowa TSN-SS1 7mm Digiscoping Extension Ring for TE-14WD 30x and TE-17HD 25x Eyepieces

SKU CH-DF8J-FGHAA

A 7 mm extension ring that positions a camera correctly on TE-14WD 30x and TE-17HD 25x eyepieces for sharp, vignetting-free digiscoping

  • Adds 7 mm for precise camera alignment
  • Eliminates vignetting with TE-14WD 30x eyepiece
  • Extends reach for TE-17HD 25x long eye relief eyepiece
  • Works with TSN-DA1 and TSN-DA10 digiscoping adapters
  • Compatible with TSN-VA2B and TSN-VA3 conversion rings

7mm Digiscoping Extension Ring

The Kowa TSN-SS1 adds 7mm of spacing to compatible digiscoping adapters and conversion rings, allowing a camera to reach proper focus with specific eyepieces. It is built for photographers and birdwatchers who use Kowa spotting scopes and need precise camera alignment for clear, detailed images of distant subjects.

Simple threaded installation

The ring threads between the TSN-DA1 or TSN-DA10 adapter and the TSN-VA2B or TSN-VA3 conversion ring, requiring no tools for assembly. Problems usually arise when the total optical path length is still incorrect for the chosen eyepiece, or when the ring is cross-threaded during fitting, which can prevent a secure, light-tight connection.

Suits Kowa scope users

This accessory is intended for owners of Kowa spotting scopes who pair a TE-14WD 30x wide eyepiece or TE-17HD 25x long eye relief eyepiece with the listed adapters. It will not help photographers using different eyepiece models, other brands of spotting scopes, or digiscoping setups that do not require the extra 7mm extension.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the TSN-SS1 ring is correctly aligned with my TE-14WD 30x eyepiece?

When the ring is seated between the TSN-DA1 or TSN-DA10 adapter and the TE-14WD 30x eyepiece, the camera sensor centres without vignetting and the full field of view is visible.

What comes in the box and which Kowa adapters must I already own?

The package contains the 7mm TSN-SS1 extension ring only; you need a TSN-DA1 or TSN-DA10 digiscoping adapter plus a TSN-VA2B or TSN-VA3 conversion ring to connect it.

Which eyepiece version works with this ring — the TE-14WD 30x or the TE-17HD 25x?

Both are supported; the ring extends the adapter tube so either the TE-14WD 30x Wide Eyepiece or the TE-17HD 25x Long Eye Relief Eyepiece can be used.
