Philadelphia trowel for concrete work

The KRAFT TOOL RO310-11 Philadelphia trowel is built for masons and contractors who place and finish concrete. Its 11 in carbon-steel blade and straight leather handle give the control needed for spreading, smoothing and shaping wet mixes on site.

Flexible carbon-steel blade changes the feel

The flexible blade follows the surface rather than fighting it, reducing drag and helping produce a flatter finish with less effort. Leather on the straight handle absorbs moisture and stays grippy through a long day, while the 5 1/2 in width covers ground efficiently on walls and slabs.

Eleven-inch blade handles standard pours

An 11 in blade moves enough mud for typical residential and light-commercial pours without excessive fatigue. Very large slabs or high-volume commercial jobs will demand wider tools or mechanical finishing to keep pace.

Questions about this item

How often will the carbon-steel blade need sharpening with daily concrete work?

The carbon-steel blade holds an edge well but should be honed lightly after each day of heavy use to keep the 11-inch edge crisp.

What wears out first when spreading stiff mortar all day?

The leather handle grip compresses over time and will need replacement before the forged blade shows any wear.

Does the straight leather handle get hot or slippery during a full shift?

The leather stays cool and absorbs sweat, while the straight profile gives a firm grip without heating up.
