Professional 8x8 DVI Matrix Switcher
The Kramer Electronics VS-88HDCPxl routes DVI and HDMI signals on DVI-D connectors across eight inputs and eight outputs. It reclocks and equalises each path so any source can reach any or all displays simultaneously. The unit supports HDCP and handles Deep Color, x.v.Color, 3D pass-through and compressed audio channels. Control is available from the front panel, IR remote, RS-232 or Ethernet.
Sustained Signal Integrity
Each graphic channel operates at 2.25Gbps for a total throughput of 6.75Gbps, maintaining stability during continuous operation. The switcher reclocks and equalises incoming data to counteract cable loss over long runs. I-EDIDPro captures and stores display EDID information, preventing handshake drops when sources or sinks change. Output disconnect control lets the system isolate individual ports without affecting the remaining matrix.
Replaces Standalone Distribution Amps
This matrix consolidates multiple distribution amplifiers and manual switch boxes into a single chassis with 100-240V AC power. The jump is worth it when an installation needs simultaneous routing to several zones with preset recall via K-Router or Ethernet Configuration Manager. It is not suited for buyers who require HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, fibre extension or native USB-C video inputs.

Questions about this item
How much heat does the VS-88HDCPxl generate when all eight outputs run at the 6.75Gbps maximum data rate all day?
The unit runs from a 100-240V AC supply and reclocks each channel at 2.25Gbps; no fan noise or thermal figures are published, so expect typical rack-matrix warmth.
Which cables and displays must I already own to connect eight sources to the DVI-D inputs and eight sinks to the DVI-D outputs?
You need eight DVI-D or HDMI-to-DVI cables for the inputs and eight more for the outputs, plus displays that accept DVI or HDMI signals with HDCP.
Will the RS-232 and Ethernet control ports still work if I keep my older Kramer controller that only speaks RS-232?
Yes, the matrix provides both RS-232 and Ethernet simultaneously, so legacy RS-232 controllers operate alongside newer network management.
