Kwikset Halifax Dummy Trim

This Kwikset 973HFLSQF-11P dummy trim provides a fixed Halifax lever with a square full escutcheon in an Iron Black finish. It suits interior doors where no latch or lock mechanism is required. The piece is sold new and ships directly from the manufacturer.

Non-operational hardware under constant use

Because the trim is a dummy function, it contains no moving latch or cylinder to wear under repeated operation. The solid lever and escutcheon simply remain in place, so sustained handling does not degrade any mechanical action. The Iron Black coating resists surface marking from daily contact.

Surface-mount installation with alignment care

Installation involves fastening the escutcheon and lever to the door face with the supplied screws; no bore hole or mortise is needed. The main difficulty is keeping the square escutcheon perfectly level while tightening fixings, as any tilt is immediately visible on the flat surround.

Questions about this item

Does the dummy lever generate any noise, heat or draw power during all-day use?

No, the 973HFLSQF-11P is a solid non-mechanical dummy trim with no moving parts, so it produces no sound, no heat and consumes zero electricity.

What door preparation must already exist for this Halifax square escutcheon to install?

A standard bore hole and edge bore are required; the 5-1/2 inch centre-to-centre square full escutcheon covers the cut-outs and mounts with the supplied screws.

Will the Iron Black finish match older Kwikset 514 or 973 series hardware already on the house?

Yes, the 11P Iron Black coating is the current finish code for the 514 and 973 families, so new and existing pieces share the same colour.
