Product identity

The L.H. DOTTIE LN300 is a 3-inch threaded steel locknut with a zinc-plated finish. It secures rigid or IMC conduit to enclosures and junction boxes in commercial and industrial electrical installations.

Interface limits

The locknut uses standard NPS threads sized for 3-inch trade conduit. It fits the corresponding knockout or threaded hub without adapters. The zinc coating provides corrosion resistance for indoor and sheltered outdoor locations but is not rated for direct burial or continuous immersion.

Capacity headroom

The steel construction withstands the mechanical torque required by code for 3-inch raceways. It will not accommodate larger trade sizes or non-threaded conduit systems. Buyers needing smaller or larger locknuts, or non-metallic conduit fittings, must select a different part.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the LN300 3 in locknut or a different size for my conduit?

The LN300 is a 3 in threaded steel locknut with zinc plating. Select it when your conduit and fittings are 3 in trade size; otherwise match the locknut to your specific conduit diameter.

How does the zinc-plated steel hold up once installed on a 3 in conduit?

The steel body provides mechanical strength for securing fittings, while the zinc plating resists corrosion in typical indoor and covered outdoor electrical runs.

What thread standard does the 3 in locknut follow and what does it limit?

It uses standard 3 in conduit threads (NPSM), which caps the maximum conduit size to 3 in trade diameter and requires matching threaded fittings.
