12-inch Extension for 7/16-inch Arbor

This L.H. Dottie extension adds twelve inches of reach for tools that mount on a seven-sixteenths inch arbor. It fits directly onto the arbor and accepts compatible accessories on the opposite end. The steel construction handles the torque and vibration of everyday drilling or cutting tasks.

Suited for tradespeople needing extra depth

Workers who regularly drill through thick joists, studs or masonry will gain the clearance they need without changing bits. Users whose tools already have sufficient reach or who use a different arbor size will not benefit from this extension.

Slides on and locks with the existing set-screw

Installation takes seconds: align the extension with the arbor, tighten the tool's set-screw against the flat on the shank, and confirm it runs true. The most common issue is vibration caused by a loose set-screw or an accessory that exceeds the extension's rated length.

Questions about this item

What size hole saw or cutter do I need to already have for this 12'' extension to fit?

You need a hole saw or cutter that uses a 7/16'' arbor, because the extension is made specifically for that arbor diameter.

Will this extension work with the 1/2'' drill chuck I already use?

The extension is built for a 7/16'' arbor, so it will not fit a 1/2'' chuck directly; you would need an arbor that matches 7/16'' on one end and your chuck on the other.

How can I confirm the extension is seated correctly after I attach it?

When the extension is fully inserted onto the 7/16'' arbor and the set screw or locking mechanism is tightened, there should be no wobble and the total length will measure 12 inches.
