Quantitative Filter Paper Grade 40
This quantitative filter paper is manufactured from cellulose and supplied as 100 discs of 15.0 cm diameter. It is intended for gravimetric analysis of gases and liquids in laboratory and field-testing workflows where consistent pore structure is required.
Medium porosity with 8 µm pore size
Each disc is 0.2 mm thick with a uniform 8 µm pore size and medium porosity. The flat, non-fluted shape allows repeatable flow rates and particle retention during vacuum or gravity filtration without the variability introduced by pleats.
Replaces inconsistent filter media
The pack upgrades from mixed-grade or uncertified papers that can skew residue mass measurements. The jump is worth it when analytical procedures demand FDA-listed Grade 40 performance and batch-to-batch repeatability for quantitative results.

Questions about this item
What pore size does the 8 µm Grade 40 filter paper provide?
The paper has a minimum and maximum pore size of 8 µm, giving a uniform 8 µm rating for quantitative analysis.
What diameter funnel or holder fits the 15.0 cm discs?
Each disc measures 15.0 cm in diameter, so it fits standard 15 cm filter funnels or clamping rings.
How do I pre-wet the cellulose discs before vacuum filtration?
Place a disc in the funnel, apply a few millilitres of solvent to wet the 0.2 mm thick cellulose fully, then start vacuum to seal the paper.
