The 2.4 cm diameter discs suit analytical workflows that require high thermal stability and low extractables. Technicians performing gravimetric analysis or particulate monitoring will find the grade TSS specification appropriate. It is not suited for buyers who need larger diameter membranes or different pore sizes.

Upgrade Context

The 1.5 µm pore size and 500 °C temperature rating replace lower-grade cellulose or polymer discs that degrade under heat or shed fibres. Switching to this borosilicate medium is justified when sample integrity demands binderless construction and consistent thickness of .43 mm. Laboratories still using membranes with higher extractable levels will see cleaner blanks. The change is not warranted for applications that operate well below the thermal limit or require finer retention.

Sustained Load Behaviour
