Water Sampling at Defined Depths

The Lamotte 1087 acrylic water sampler collects discrete samples from fresh, brackish or salt water. A weighted messenger slides down the calibrated line to trigger the closing mechanism at the chosen depth. The clear tube holds approximately 1,200 mL for immediate visual inspection. Field technicians and environmental teams use it for routine water-quality profiling.

Line Length and Calibration Limits

The supplied line extends to 20 m and is marked at 1 m intervals, so sampling is restricted to that maximum depth. Accuracy depends on the messenger reaching the sampler without excessive drift or line stretch. The single calibrated line does not support simultaneous multi-depth collection. Users needing deeper profiles or automated logging must use different equipment.

Rugged Construction and Daily Handling

Stainless steel components resist corrosion during repeated immersion in salt water. The acrylic tube measures 15 x 3.5 x 4.5 and allows quick visual checks before dispensing through the open end cap. The weighted messenger and calibrated line are integrated, reducing loose parts in the field. The transparent body simplifies cleaning between sampling runs.
