Connects eight serial devices to a 1 GB Ethernet network with SSH and SSL security in a 1U rack-mountable chassis
The Lantronix EDS3008PR1NS connects up to eight serial devices to a gigabit Ethernet network in a 1U rack-mount chassis. It is aimed at integrators and IT teams that need to manage legacy consoles, industrial controllers or network gear without rewiring. The unit ships with a North American power cord and operates from 110 to 240 volt mains.
No fan is fitted, so the server runs silently in data-centre racks or quiet office cabinets. Power draw stays low because the processor and 512 megabit flash memory are sized for terminal traffic rather than heavy compute. The 110-240 volt auto-ranging supply eliminates the need for a separate transformer.
Lantronix Provisioning Manager lets administrators push firmware and configuration to multiple units from a Windows workstation. The cloud-based Percepxion platform adds remote status alerts and inventory tracking across sites. Both tools reduce the time spent on per-device setup and ongoing maintenance.

Secure the 1U chassis in a standard rack with the supplied brackets, then connect the included 110-240V Noram power cord; the step often missed is fastening the rear cable-support bar so serial cables cannot pull loose.
The internal 8 MB flash memory stores firmware and configuration; after many write cycles it can wear out, so plan to reload a fresh image from the 512 MB onboard flash when the device fails to boot.
The single 1 GB Ethernet uplink becomes the bottleneck once aggregate serial traffic exceeds that link’s capacity, causing packet queuing and increased latency.
