Elevated Pedestal Design

The Lasko 5397 is a 30-inch ceramic pedestal heater that delivers 1500 watts of warmth at seated height. Its space-saving footprint uses only about one square foot of floor space. The unit features wide-area oscillation to circulate heat across a 150 square foot area. A multi-function digital remote control allows convenient operation from across the room.

Ideal for Focused Room Heating

This heater suits anyone wanting supplemental warmth in a living room, bedroom, or home office without sacrificing floor space. The adjustable thermostat and two quiet heat settings provide flexible comfort control. Buyers needing whole-house heating or primary heat for areas larger than 150 square feet should look at central systems or higher-capacity units.

1500-Watt Capacity and Safety Limits

At 1500 watts and 5115 BTU, the heater comfortably maintains temperature in spaces up to 150 square feet. The built-in thermostat cycles the element automatically to hold the set temperature. An 8-hour timer allows scheduled operation in one-hour increments. Overheat protection and cool-touch housing provide safety margins during extended use.

Questions about this item

Does the Lasko 5397 need any batteries to operate the remote control?

The multi-function digital remote requires two AAA batteries, which are not included with the heater.

Can I plug this 1500 W heater into a standard 120 V household outlet without tripping a 15 A breaker?

It draws 12.5 A at 120 V, so a dedicated 15 A circuit is recommended to avoid overloads with other devices.

How do I confirm the thermostat is maintaining the set temperature after assembly?

The display shows the target temperature; when the room reaches it, the heating element cycles off while the fan may continue circulating air.
