2-1/2" Copper CXC Coupling
The Legend Valve 450-589 is a copper coupling designed for C x C connections without an internal stop. It joins two pieces of copper tubing of the same diameter in a straight line. This fitting suits plumbing installations where a continuous pipe run is required.
Replaces damaged or leaky straight joints
Use this coupling when repairing a split pipe or replacing a corroded fitting in an existing copper line. The jump is worth it when the damaged section is accessible and a soldered repair restores system integrity without re-piping the whole run.
Fits 2-1/2" ID and 2-5/8" OD copper tubing
The coupling slides over prepared pipe ends and requires soldering equipment and flux to complete the joint. It frees up layout options by allowing pipes to be joined end-to-end in tight spaces where a stopped coupling would limit insertion depth.

Questions about this item
What pipe diameters does the 2-1/2" CXC coupling connect?
The coupling joins a 2-1/2 inch inside diameter pipe to a 2-5/8 inch outside diameter copper pipe using a C x C sweat connection.
What is the correct soldering step that installers often skip on a stop-less copper coupling?
Clean both pipe ends and the fitting sockets thoroughly, apply flux evenly, then heat the joint uniformly so capillary action draws solder completely around each socket.
When should the coupling be inspected or replaced in a potable water system?
Inspect for green patina, pitting or slow leaks at the solder joints during routine plumbing checks; replace the fitting if corrosion or a persistent drip is found.
