1/72 Scale P-51D Mustang Diecast

This 1/72 scale diecast model reproduces the North American P-51D Mustang flown by James Tapp of the 78th Fighter Squadron, 15th Fighter Group, Twentieth Air Force at Iwo Jima in 1945. Made of diecast metal with some plastic parts, it offers a heavy, realistic feel. The model arrives in the manufacturer's original unopened packaging and includes a display stand.

Display-Only Construction With Fixed Surfaces

The model features no openings, so all panel lines, antennas and access panels remain permanently sealed for a clean exterior. Diecast metal and plastic construction resists handling wear while keeping fine surface details intact. It is intended for static display rather than interactive play or disassembly.

Specific Historical Livery Identifies The Subject

The "Margaret IV" markings tie this replica to a single aircraft, pilot and unit in the Pacific theatre. Collectors seeking that exact 15th Fighter Group example will find the correct insignia applied; those needing a generic P-51D or a different squadron scheme should look elsewhere.
