Lenovo 00D1998 I350-T4 ML2 Quad Port GbE network card

What the product is

This Lenovo 00D1998 I350-T4 ML2 adapter adds four Gigabit Ethernet ports to a compatible server. It uses a PCI Express x8 host interface and a mezzanine form factor. The card is built on the Intel I350 controller and supports twisted-pair cabling at 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps.

Who it suits and who it does not

It suits administrators adding multi-port 1 GbE connectivity to supported System x servers. Builders needing 10 GbE speeds, fibre media or a standard low-profile bracket should look elsewhere. The mezzanine form factor will not fit conventional PCIe slots.

Deciding specification

The mezzanine form factor is the single specification that determines compatibility. Only servers with a matching ML2 slot can accept this adapter; standard PCIe slots cannot.
