ThinkPad T450 business laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T450 is a 14.1 inch refurbished business laptop running Windows 10 Pro. It uses an Intel Core i5-5300U processor at 2.30 GHz with 8GB of DDR3L memory and a 256GB SATA SSD. The non-touch screen and integrated graphics suit office tasks and web browsing.

Suits mobile workers needing Windows 10 Pro

This unit suits professionals who need a lightweight Windows 10 Pro machine with a docking connector for desk expansion. Buyers who need a touchscreen, Bluetooth, discrete graphics or more than 16 GB of memory should look elsewhere. The Grade B cosmetic condition means visible wear is present.

256GB SATA SSD and 8GB DDR3L

The 256GB SATA 2.5 inch SSD provides solid-state speed for the operating system and files. Memory is 8GB of DDR3L SODIMM with a maximum supported capacity of 16 GB. These two specifications determine whether the laptop meets your storage and multitasking requirements.

Questions about this item

How do I install more memory in the T450 and which slot is often missed?

Remove the base cover, insert a DDR3L SODIMM into the single internal slot until it clicks, then refit the cover; the slot is easy to overlook because it sits under the keyboard deck.

What part will need replacement first on this refurbished unit?

The lithium-ion battery will degrade before other components and should be swapped when runtime drops below your needs.

At what point does the i5-5300U hit its thermal ceiling during long workloads?

The 15 W dual-core chip throttles once its internal temperature limit is reached, capping sustained clocks at the base 2.30 GHz.
