Refurbished ThinkPad T450 14.1-inch laptop

This refurbished Lenovo ThinkPad T450 is a 14.1-inch laptop built for everyday business tasks. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i5-5300U processor with 16GB of DDR3L memory and a 256GB SATA SSD. The Grade B unit includes an AC adapter and webcam but lacks Bluetooth and a touchscreen. It suits professionals needing a reliable, familiar Windows environment.

Sustained workload behaviour

The dual-core i5-5300U operates at a 2.30GHz base frequency with integrated graphics, so extended compile jobs or large spreadsheet recalculations will run within the chip's thermal envelope without turbo bursts. The 16GB DDR3L ceiling is fixed at 16GB, limiting simultaneous virtual machines or heavy media timelines. The SATA SSD keeps steady read and write speeds during long file transfers, avoiding the throttling seen on smaller drives.

SATA interface practical limits

The internal 2.5-inch SATA SSD tops out at the SATA bus ceiling, so sequential throughput cannot exceed that link speed regardless of drive internals. Only three USB ports are available for external storage expansion, and the single docking connector adds one more fixed I/O path. Buyers who want more storage bandwidth or additional high-speed ports will need a different platform.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the Core i5-5300U get during all-day use?

The 2.30 GHz i5-5300U is a 15 W ultra-low-voltage chip, so fan noise stays low and surface temperatures remain moderate even under sustained load.

Which cables or peripherals must I already own to use this ThinkPad T450?

The box includes the AC adapter; you only need to add a network cable or Wi-Fi access point and any USB-A devices you want on the three USB ports.

Will my older SATA 2.5" drives or DDR3L modules work inside this T450?

The 256 GB SATA 2.5" SSD can be swapped for any other 2.5" SATA drive, but the 16 GB DDR3L memory is already at the 16 GB maximum and cannot be expanded.
