Refurbished ThinkPad T450s 14.0-inch business

This Lenovo ThinkPad T450s is a refurbished 14.0-inch business Ultrabook powered by an Intel Core i5-5300U processor at 2.30 GHz with 12 GB DDR3L memory and a 128 GB SATA SSD. It ships with Windows 10 Home 64-bit and includes an AC adapter and integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500.

Upgrade from older dual-core notebooks

Replacing a laptop with a hard drive or an earlier dual-core CPU yields noticeable gains in boot speed and multitasking responsiveness thanks to the SSD and 12 GB RAM ceiling. The jump is worth it when daily workloads involve office suites, web apps and video calls on a lightweight chassis rated for up to 17 hours of battery life.

Mobile professionals needing a light 14-inch

Suits buyers who want a corporate-grade 14.0-inch laptop with a webcam, 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Windows 10 Home ready for a Windows 11 Pro upgrade. Not for users who require a touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, discrete graphics or more than 128 GB of internal storage.

Questions about this item

What SSD form factor and interface does the T450S use for its 128 GB drive?

It uses a 2.5-inch SATA SSD; the slot accepts standard 7 mm SATA drives and the existing unit can be swapped without an adapter.

How is the battery installed and what step is often missed?

The T450S has an internal and a hot-swappable external battery; slide the external pack until it clicks, then enable the internal battery in BIOS before first use.

Which memory modules can be used to reach the 12 GB maximum?

Only DDR3L SODIMM modules are supported; the system ships with 12 GB already installed, so no further upgrade is possible.
