ThinkPad X1 Yoga 1st Gen convertible

The ThinkPad X1 Yoga 1st Gen is a 14.0-inch 2-in-1 laptop built for business users who need a premium ultrabook with pen input. It ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit and includes the ThinkPad Pen Pro stylus. The OLED touch display resolves at 2560 x 1440 and supports 10-point multi-touch. A fingerprint reader adds biometric sign-in.

Business users needing pen and OLED

This model suits professionals who want a lightweight convertible with a high-contrast OLED screen and an integrated stylus for inking or annotation. The dual-core i7-6600U and 16 GB of onboard LPDDR3 handle office workloads and light multitasking. Buyers who need user-replaceable memory, a discrete GPU, or more than 512 GB of internal storage should look at other configurations. The 65-watt adapter powers the system.

16 GB soldered LPDDR3 memory

The single specification that decides fit is the 16 GB of onboard LPDDR3 1866 memory, which cannot be upgraded after purchase. If your workflow regularly exceeds 16 GB — for example with large virtual machines or heavy compilation — this unit will not meet that need. For workloads that stay within 16 GB, the 512 GB M.2 SSD and integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 provide responsive performance.

Questions about this item

Will the USB 3.0 ports and Mini DisplayPort work with my older USB 2.0 devices and external monitor?

The 3 x USB 3.0 ports are backward compatible with USB 2.0 peripherals, and the Mini DisplayPort and HDMI outputs can drive legacy monitors with the correct cables.

How can I verify the 2560 x 1440 OLED touch display and Intel Core i7-6600U are performing correctly after setup?

Open Settings > System > Display to confirm the 2560 x 1440 resolution and 10-point multi-touch, then check Task Manager > Performance to see the dual-core i7-6600U running at 2.6GHz with 16GB LPDDR3 memory.

Does the box include the ThinkPad Pen Pro and 65-watt AC adapter, or must I buy them separately?

The package content lists the ThinkPad Pen Pro, and the 65-watt AC adapter is specified as the power supply, so both are included in the box.
