Questions about this item

Will the Gobi 5000 modem work in a ThinkPad that currently uses an older WWAN card?

The Gobi 5000 is a Lenovo WWAN module designed for compatible ThinkPad slots; it uses the same 3FF SIM form factor as earlier Gobi cards, so existing antenna cables and SIM trays remain usable.

How can I confirm the Gobi 5000 is active after installation?

Open Device Manager in Windows and look for the Gobi 5000 entry under Network adapters; a successful driver load and signal bars in the mobile broadband UI show it is working.
