Lenovo 500e Gen 5 Chromebook 11.6

This Lenovo 500e Gen 5 Chromebook is an 11.6-inch convertible notebook built for ChromeOS. It runs on a MediaTek Kompanio 540 processor with 4 GB of memory. The touchscreen IPS display offers a 1366 x 768 HD resolution in a Luna Gray chassis.

Suited for classroom and light cloud work

Students and frontline workers who need a durable 2-in-1 for web apps and managed environments will find it fits. Buyers who want more storage or higher memory capacity should look at other configurations. The fixed 4 GB of memory limits multitasking with heavy browser loads.

MediaTek Kompanio 540 processor

The MediaTek Kompanio 540 CPU defines the performance ceiling for this ChromeOS device. It determines how smoothly web-based workflows and Android apps run on the 4 GB platform. Verify that this processor meets the requirements of your managed deployment before purchase.

Questions about this item

Will the 4 GB memory soldered to the MediaTek Kompanio 540 board ever need an upgrade?

The 4 GB is soldered and not user-upgradeable; ChromeOS manages memory automatically so no replacement is required.

What stops the MediaTek Kompanio 540 from running flat-out during a long school day?

Passive cooling limits sustained performance; the processor throttles once its thermal envelope is reached.

How loud and warm does the 11.6 inch convertible get when left on all day?

Fanless design means silent operation; the chassis stays warm to the touch but within normal limits for classroom use.
