Questions about this item

Does my server have a SAS backplane or controller that accepts a 2.5" drive?

The drive uses a SAS interface and fits a 2.5" SFF bay, so the host must provide a matching SAS backplane or HBA with a 2.5" slot.

Will this 6Gbps SAS drive negotiate down to work with my older 3Gbps SAS controller?

SAS links auto-negotiate speed, so a 6Gbps drive will operate at 3Gbps when connected to a 3Gbps controller.

How can I confirm the drive is running at the expected 10K RPM after installation?

Check the drive’s reported rotational speed in the RAID controller BIOS or OS disk utility; it should show 10K RPM.
