What you get and who it suits

This 15.6 inch FHD laptop pairs a 10-core Intel Core i5-1235U with 8GB DDR4 and a 256GB SSD. The 1920 x 1080 anti-glare TN panel runs at 220 nits. It ships with Windows 10 S and includes a USB 3.0 hub in the bundle. Buyers who need a discrete GPU or more than 8GB of soldered memory should look elsewhere.

Sustained workload behaviour

The processor runs at a 1.3 GHz base and can reach 4.4 GHz turbo, while Intel Iris Xe graphics share system memory. Under long sessions the 3-cell battery and fanless‑class chassis limit how long peak clocks hold, so extended compiles or large media exports will throttle. The 220 nits screen stays readable indoors but washes out in bright light.

Installation and common issues

Windows 10 S restricts app installs to the Microsoft Store until you switch out of S mode, a one-way change. The single USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port carries data only, not video or charging, so external monitors must use HDMI 1.4b. Only one USB 3.2 Gen 1 and one USB 2.0 port are available for peripherals. The non-backlit keyboard and missing fingerprint reader are fixed by design.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the i5-1235U get when running all day on this 15.6" chassis?

The 256 GB SSD has no moving parts, so it adds no noise and reduces heat and power draw. The 10-core i5-1235U runs at 1.3 GHz base and 4.4 GHz turbo inside a 0.7-inch thick body weighing 3.52 lbs.

What cables or peripherals must I already own to use the HDMI 1.4b and USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 ports?

You need an HDMI cable for the 1.4b output and a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 cable or hub for the USB-C port; the box includes a USB 3.0 hub.

Will my older USB 2.0 mouse and 720p webcam work alongside the built-in 720p privacy-shutter camera?

Yes — one USB 2.0 port and one USB 3.2 Gen 1 port accept legacy peripherals, while the integrated 720p camera with privacy shutter handles video calls.
