15.6" FHD Ryzen 5 Laptop

This Lenovo IdeaPad 3 is a new 15.6-inch laptop with a Full HD anti-glare display, AMD Ryzen 5 5500U processor, 12GB of RAM and a 1TB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive. It ships with Windows 11 Home and includes a backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader and 720p webcam with privacy shutter.

Who it suits and who should look elsewhere

The 6-core processor and 12GB of memory handle everyday multitasking, office applications and video calls smoothly. The anti-glare IPS panel and long battery life support mobile professionals and students. Buyers who want a dedicated graphics card for gaming or rendering, a touchscreen, more than 20GB of total memory or an SD card reader should look at something else.

Deciding specification — 1TB PCIe NVMe storage

The 1TB PCIe NVMe drive provides fast boot times and ample space for documents, media and applications without relying on a secondary hard drive. This capacity and interface combination is the key factor for users who need responsive storage in a thin-and-light chassis.

Questions about this item

Does this laptop need any extra parts to run the Ryzen 5 5500U and 12GB DDR4 out of the box?

No, the processor, 12GB memory and 1TB NVMe SSD are already installed and Windows 11 Home is pre-loaded, so the system works immediately.

Can I still use my older USB 2.0 Type-A peripherals with the single USB 2.0 port on this model?

Yes, the USB 2.0 Type-A port supports legacy devices, while the USB 3.2 Type-A and Type-C ports handle faster connections.

How can I confirm the 15.6" FHD anti-glare panel and Radeon graphics are running at 1920 x 1080 after setup?

Open Windows Display Settings and verify the resolution shows 1920 x 1080; Device Manager will list AMD Radeon Graphics as the active adapter.
