Product identity

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 2-in-1 16IRU9 is a 16.0 inch convertible laptop with a WUXGA 1920 x 1200 IPS touchscreen. It runs on a 12-core Intel Core Ultra 7 255U processor with 32 GB LPDDR5x 6400MHz memory and a 1 TB M.2 TLC SSD. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed and a Lenovo Digital Pen is included for inking and navigation.

Thermals and acoustics

The slim 0.77 inch chassis houses a 57 Wh three-cell battery and integrated Intel graphics, so sustained power draw stays modest during typical office tasks. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity add minimal thermal load. Fan noise remains low while browsing or streaming, and the backlit keyboard stays comfortable during extended typing sessions.

Sustained load behaviour

Under continuous multi-core workloads the 12-core processor manages heat within the thin enclosure without aggressive throttling. The 32 GB single-module memory configuration supports heavy multitasking and large datasets. Integrated graphics handle 1080p video encoding and light creative work, while the 1 TB drive provides consistent throughput for project files.

Questions about this item

How do I install the included Lenovo Digital Pen with this 16" touchscreen?

The pen works immediately without pairing or drivers; simply remove it from the packaging and start writing on the WUXGA IPS display.

What maintenance or replacement will the 57WH battery need later?

The integrated 3-cell lithium-polymer battery is not user-replaceable; plan for professional service once runtime drops below your needs.

What thermal limit appears first during sustained heavy workloads on the Core Ultra 7 255U?

The 12-core processor will throttle clock speeds to stay within its thermal envelope, reducing performance before the chassis becomes uncomfortable.
