IdeaPad 5 2-in-1 16-inch convertible

This Lenovo IdeaPad 5 is a 16-inch 2-in-1 laptop with a 178-degree hinge, Intel Core 5 120U processor, 16GB LPDDR5X memory and 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. It ships with Windows 11 Home and a WUXGA IPS touchscreen rated at 300 nits brightness. The Luna Grey chassis weighs 4.4 lbs and measures 0.72 inches thin.

Suits mobile professionals needing touch and inking

The convertible form factor suits users who want a single device for typing, presenting and sketching. Buyers who need upgradeable memory should look elsewhere because the 16GB LPDDR5X is soldered. The 45% NTSC colour gamut and integrated Intel Graphics limit suitability for colour-critical creative work or gaming.

Soldered 16GB LPDDR5X at 7500 MHz

Memory is fixed at 16GB LPDDR5X running at 7500 MHz with no expansion slots, so the configuration you buy is the configuration you keep. This single constraint decides whether the laptop fits workflows that demand more RAM later.

Questions about this item

How hot or loud does the Intel Core 5 120U get during an all-day workload?

The 10-core processor uses 2 performance and 8 efficient cores to manage thermals; the thin .72-inch chassis relies on passive airflow so surface warmth is noticeable but fan noise stays low for typical business tasks.

Which peripherals or accounts must I already have to start working with this 2-in-1?

Windows 11 Home requires a Microsoft account for first boot; the 16 GB LPDDR5X is soldered and the 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive is installed, so no extra memory or storage is needed — only a WiFi 6 router or Ethernet dongle for network access.

Will my older USB-A drives and HDMI monitor work with the ports on this Luna Grey model?

The laptop includes one HDMI output and USB-A ports alongside USB-C, so legacy flash drives and external displays connect directly without adapters; Bluetooth 5.2 also pairs with existing wireless mice or keyboards.
