Refurbished ThinkCentre M720-SFF business desktop

This Lenovo ThinkCentre M720-SFF is a refurbished small-form-factor business desktop. It runs an Intel Core i7-8700 3.20 GHz six-core processor with 12 MB L3 cache and 16 GB DDR4 memory. A 500 GB M.2 NVMe SSD provides the boot drive. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 handles display output. A DVD-ROM drive is included.

Suited to office productivity

The desktop suits general office work, web apps and dual-display configurations via one VGA and two DisplayPort connectors. Front USB includes two USB 3.1 Gen 1, two USB 3.1 Gen 2 and one USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C. Rear I/O adds four USB 2.0, one serial COM, one RJ45 and audio. Buyers needing discrete graphics performance or more internal drive bays should consider other form factors.

500 GB NVMe capacity with 16 GB memory headroom

The 500 GB NVMe SSD offers fast boot and application load times for typical business workloads. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 handles multiple browser tabs, office suites and light virtualisation comfortably. Heavy video editing, large databases or modern gaming will exceed the integrated graphics and storage headroom. No additional drive bays are mentioned in the specifications.

Questions about this item

What display cables do I need for the two DisplayPort outputs and the VGA port on this ThinkCentre M720-SFF?

You need two DisplayPort cables for the DisplayPort outputs and one VGA cable for the VGA port; the Intel UHD Graphics 630 drives all three simultaneously.

Will my existing USB 2.0 keyboard and mouse work with the four rear USB 2.0 ports on this unit?

Yes, the four rear USB 2.0 ports are backward-compatible with USB 2.0 peripherals such as keyboards and mice.

How can I verify the Intel Core i7-8700 is recognised with its 6 cores and 12 MB L3 cache after installing Windows 11 Pro?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, choose CPU, and confirm 6 cores and 12 MB L3 cache are reported.
