Legion 5 15 WQXGA 165Hz gaming laptop

The Lenovo Legion 5 15 combines a 15.1 inch WQXGA display running at 165Hz with an Intel Core i7-14700HX 20-core processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 graphics. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR5 memory and a one terabyte PCIe SSD support modern games and multitasking. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed for professional and home use.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

The twenty-eight thread CPU reaches up to 5.5 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost while the RTX 5060 uses eight gigabytes of GDDR7 video memory. The chassis measures 13.58 by 10.05 by 0.85 inches and weighs 4.19 pounds, providing space for internal cooling. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth handle wireless connectivity without extra hardware.

Build integration ports and expansion

Two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports deliver 10Gbps data, DisplayPort output and Power Delivery on one port. Three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports add 5Gbps connections, one supporting Always On charging. An HDMI 2.1 port drives external displays. The backlit keyboard and webcam complete the package for streaming or work.

Questions about this item

How do I install an additional SSD in the Legion 5 15 and what step is often missed?

Open the bottom panel, insert the drive into the free M.2 slot at an angle, press it flat, and secure it with the screw; the step people miss is removing the protective film from the thermal pad before reassembly.

What maintenance will the RTX 5060 8GB GDDR7 graphics need later?

The GPU itself needs no scheduled service; keep the heatsink fins clear of dust with compressed air every few months and replace the thermal paste only if temperatures rise noticeably after years of heavy use.

What limit appears first during long gaming sessions on the 15.1" 165Hz WQXGA display?

The 165 Hz refresh rate caps frame output, so sustained loads will hit that ceiling before the panel's response time becomes a factor.
