Legion Pro 5 16 for gaming and content work

This 16.0-inch laptop pairs an AMD Ryzen 9 8945HX 16-core processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 8GB GDDR7 GPU. It ships with 64GB DDR5 memory and a 2TB PCIe SSD. The IPS WQXGA panel runs at 2560 x 1600 resolution and 240 Hz refresh rate. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed for immediate use.

Installing memory or storage upgrades

The chassis uses standard DDR5 SO-DIMM slots and an M.2 PCIe slot accessible after removing the bottom cover. Screws are captive and clearly labelled. Common issues include forgetting to reseat the battery connector before closing the case and applying uneven pressure on the thermal pads during reassembly.

Thermal behaviour during extended sessions

Under sustained load the 16-core CPU can hold 5.4 GHz boost clocks while the RTX 5060 maintains stable frame rates. The vapour-chamber cooling system keeps surface temperatures manageable during long renders or gaming marathons. Fan noise rises noticeably but stays consistent without abrupt ramping. Performance does not throttle in typical room ambient conditions.
