15.6 inch 144Hz FHD gaming laptop

The Lenovo LOQ 15 is a 15.6 inch Windows 11 gaming laptop with a 1920 x 1080 144Hz display. It runs on an Intel Core i7-13650HX 14-core processor reaching 4.9 GHz with 24 MB cache. Graphics come from an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 with 8GB GDDR7 memory.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This suits buyers wanting a 14-core Intel 13th Gen CPU paired with an RTX 5050 GPU in a 15.6 inch chassis. The 16GB DDR5 and 512GB PCIe SSD cover modern gaming and multitasking. Users needing a touchscreen, an SD card reader, a fingerprint reader or more than 512GB of factory storage should consider other models.

The spec that decides fit

The deciding spec is the GeForce RTX 5050 with 8GB GDDR7 video memory. It determines the graphics performance ceiling for this 15.6 inch 144Hz system. If that GPU meets your target frame rates at 1920 x 1080, the accompanying 14-core CPU, 16GB DDR5 and 512GB PCIe SSD complete a balanced package.

Questions about this item

Will the USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports at 5Gbps still run my older USB 2.0 mouse and keyboard?

Yes, the three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports are backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices such as mice and keyboards.

How can I confirm the 144Hz panel is actually running at 144Hz after Windows 11 setup?

Open Settings > System > Display > Advanced display and verify the refresh rate dropdown shows 144 Hz for the built-in 15.6" FHD screen.

Does the box include a USB-C charger or do I need to buy a separate Power Delivery adapter?

The laptop ships with its own rectangle-plug power adapter; the USB-C port supports Power Delivery for accessories but is not the primary charging source.
