Refurbished ThinkCentre M720 SFF

This Lenovo ThinkCentre M720 Small Form Factor desktop is a refurbished business PC graded A by a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher. It ships with Windows 11 Pro 64-bit pre-installed and includes a wired keyboard and mouse. The compact chassis suits office desks where space is limited.

Six-core Intel Core i5-8400 under sustained load

The Intel Core i5-8400 runs at 2.80 GHz across six cores with 9 MB of L3 cache. In extended workloads the processor maintains its base frequency without relying on short turbo bursts. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 handles desktop composition and video playback without a discrete GPU.

Thermals noise and power in daily use

The small form factor enclosure uses a single system fan to cool the 65 W processor and 512 GB SSD. Under typical office tasks the fan runs at low speed and remains quiet. Wi-Fi 5 and Gigabit LAN provide network connectivity without adding measurable heat.

Questions about this item

How much power does the 65-watt Core i5-8400 draw and how loud is the SFF fan under all-day load?

The 65 W TDP i5-8400 runs cool in the small chassis; the single system fan stays quiet during typical office workloads and only spins up noticeably during sustained heavy tasks.

Does the M720 SFF include a monitor, or must I already own a display with HDMI or DisplayPort input?

No screen is included; you need a monitor with HDMI or DisplayPort to use the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 outputs.

Will my older PCIe 2.0 expansion cards work in the M720's PCIe 3.0 slots without slowing down the i5-8400?

Yes, PCIe 2.0 cards are backward-compatible with the 3.0 slots and will not affect CPU performance.
