Compact Chrome device for basic web tasks

The Lenovo NE5-31038 is an 11.6" Chromebook powered by an Intel Celeron N2840 processor with 4GB of memory and 16GB of solid-state storage. It runs Chrome OS and includes a built-in webcam. The 1366 x 768 display suits classroom browsing, email and document editing. This unit is sold in refurbished condition.

Passive cooling keeps noise low during light loads

The low-power Celeron N2840 generates modest heat, allowing the chassis to run quietly during typical web sessions and video playback. Power draw remains minimal, so battery life extends through a standard school or work day without requiring a bulky charger. Fan noise is rarely noticeable in normal use.

Minimal accessories shift focus to cloud workflow

No recovery media or proprietary software discs are included; the device boots directly into the user's Google account. The 16GB SSD stores only the operating system and a small cache, so files and applications stay in the cloud. Buyers who need local storage expansion or legacy peripheral support should consider other form factors.

Questions about this item

How do I install a new SSD in the 11.6" Lenovo N21, and what step is often missed?

Remove the bottom screws, open the case, swap the 16GB SSD, then re-enable developer mode so Chrome OS recognises the fresh drive.

What part of the Lenovo N21 will need replacement first after heavy daily use?

The 16GB eMMC storage wears out faster than the 4GB RAM or the Intel Celeron N2840 processor under constant write cycles.

Which limit appears first when the Lenovo N21 runs flat-out for hours?

The passive cooling on the Intel Celeron N2840 hits its thermal ceiling, forcing the CPU to throttle clock speeds.
